You have seen these mittens before but I don't think I ever got around to take the action pictures of them. I have done wool applique and wool embroidery on my mittens before but this was the first time I used the back ground, that is the stitches, as a base for the design.
I used different colors for the embroidery just to play, and pompoms again! Some time ago I bought the pom pom maker and ever since it has been so easy to make them that I don't seem able to stop.
If you don't have one, I highly recommend.
I know making beautiful pom poms is an art form in itself. I would love to know more about it.
Wool with you, (very appropriate here today, it is -20C!)

I love these mittens. Very beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLovely mitts and Moomin mug!
ReplyDeleteso pretty! i love that it is natural coloured wool (this gives me an idea for same of my spinning) and the ridges incorporate such interesting texture. Is the embroidery done with wool or floss? I have the pom pom maker but never use it...i think i'm missing out. it has been 10 degrees above normal here and not a flake of snow...but we have our wood stove going first thing in the morning.
ReplyDeleteLove your mittens. Please share patterns soon! Jealous of your snow and cold. Right now in Wisconsin (northern US) it is in the 40s F and we had thunderstorms overnight. It should at least below freezing and snow. Yup, El Nino is not a friend.

ReplyDeleteYour poms are so beautiful! Even with the pom maker, mine look like they spent the night in a back alley, being fought over by rabid dogs. lol
ReplyDeletelove the fingerless mitts...i especially like the thumb portion...and great length...if you are able to write the pattern, i would definitely try them...pompoms seem the have become popular again...pretty colors of yarn and embroidery...take care...sally
ReplyDeleteI’m on the hunt for the pom pom maker!
ReplyDeleteMine are made by Clover & I bought them off Amazon. They have several sizes for fun pom making.
