The autumnal orange ones are absolutely breathtaking! But I like the wild, many-colored one, too. When drafted, spun, and plied, I think it will make a beautifully heathery yarn.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17492826.post-80957278010466678602008-09-03T01:03:00.000+03:002008-09-03T01:03:00.000+03:00I love the richness of the oranges and pinks. I will have to try it. You will love your drum carder!! But just drafting the fibres before spinning will mix the colours a bit and make it all a bit less wild.
Kind regards from Karin in DenmarkAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04122522482723031643noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17492826.post-22458496804784832382008-08-31T18:18:00.000+03:002008-08-31T18:18:00.000+03:00Lene, thank you for the link to Zetor. There is a wonderful dye blog by a marvelous Finnish woman - she dyes with plants and it is fascinating her blog is Riihivilla, she had detailed explanations about her dye experience. You do know one of the lovely things about spinning these sort of dyed rovings is as you do a bit of drafting you're constantly blending the colours and coming up with more and I love that part. So very entertaining!
Thank you for the link to Zetor, what a lovely shawl!
I hope the hat 'recipe' works out and that we'll see it at some point.
I had to giggle about you and your drum carder perhaps taking some time for 'staring' at one another, I had my spinning wheel for close to a year before I sat down to spin.Mariannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01500636360349398921noreply@blogger.com
