No panic... but from today forwards my days, and most likely yours too, if you have taken upon the Christmas preparations in good and in bad, are going to be very busy. I will do my best to stay in good spirits and not to exhaust myself. One thing at a time, with an audiobook in the ears and some carols in between, all should be fine. After all, when I look around, there is plenty to see and enjoy... the candles, the decorations, the tree...
Let’s have a look again at my Strength Advent
Calendar.
Day 11 - Cold Glögg makes you beautiful. (I am not
sure for the rest of the world, but there is a saying here about cold coffee
doing just that.)
Day 12 – Oh, this is quite bad! Death will take care
of the Christmas kilos! (the overweight gained over the holidays)
Day 13 – It’s what is inside the package that counts, not the wrapping.
(I am not good in wrapping gifts, and I have been telling this myself for years…)
Day 14 – One does not get grades for Christmas.
Day 15 – Not
just once, or twice, but have three times a chocolate praline.
Day 16 –
You are just tormenting yourself, if you do Christmas cleaning.
Day 17 – The best gift hideaway reveals itself in
March.
Day 18 – Everything looks so much better in candle
light.
Day 19 – If you have not gotten stressed by now, it is
too late to start.
Day 20 – It is love if you put 10 almonds into the
Christmas Eve morning rice pudding. (One should put one, and who ever gets it,
is going to be married next year. – I used to put many when the girls were
small, to make sure everyone got at least one.)
After these, there are only 4 more to go. I really
have enjoyed this calendar and I think it is appropriately named, hope I can
find similarly themed next year.
I’ll go now and start ticking off my to-do list. What
gets done, gets done … if not, there is always tomorrow or… next Christmas.
This is the season of peace and good will, showing some of it to yourself would
be good too.
Wool with you,
Lene
Lovely. So kind, realistic, warm, loving.

ReplyDeleteI'm more of a Day 15 girl............

ReplyDeleteI write an occasional blog post and honestly prefer blogs to other forms of social media. Thank you for posting so often. I love the kitties and the socks in the previous post. I have yarn set aside for a Christmas Eve cast on and am itching to get a sock back on the needles.
ReplyDeleteThinking about hideaways -- I went to a company with big printers to print my holiday letters, and then, when I was ready to write a bit extra on each one and get them into the mail, I could not find them. Anywhere. I knew they'd gotten into the car, but they weren't in the car........ I was wondering if I'd have to get them printed AGAIN when my husband remarked that when we got home from getting them printed, there was a package on the front steps. I knew just where that package was (in a closet!), and the letters were with it.............. :-)
ReplyDeleteThe season of peace and goodwill...and showing some to yourself. Wise words!!
