Tina July 24th 2004 - August 3rd 2016
My
sunshine doesn’t come from the skies,
It comes
from the love of my dog’s eyes.
(Unknown)
Today I
am sad to tell you that my day is dark and there is no sun, as my dear
friend Tina is gone. We took our final trip last Wednesday. I am heartbroken at
the moment, she was my faithful companion for 12 years, I could not ask for
more. She was tired and ready to go and I am grateful for the years. She was
special in many ways.
I will
be back in a few days, until then, be well,
Wool with
you,
Lene

ReplyDeleteOh Iam so sorry. If you've never owned a dog you cannot imagine how hard this is.
ReplyDeleteOh Iam so sorry. If you've never owned a dog you cannot imagine how hard this is.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry. My thoughts are with you.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear this. My dog died at the end of June, so I understand how bereft you feel. She looks like she was wonderful in every way.
ReplyDeleteGod bless all of you. Everyone at our house (furry and otherwise) will say a special prayer for you and for Tina. Take care.
So sorry to hear about this, Lene...
ReplyDeleteVery, very sorry to hear your sad news about sweet Tina. May she live on in your many happy memories.
ReplyDeleteShe was named Tina, and
ReplyDeleteLene always greeted her with warm smiles, sweet words, and gentle hugs.
Lene took Tina on many long and lovely walks because she knew how good they were for Tina.
Lene made sure Tina never went hungry, and had soft warm places to sleep.
Lene loved Tina beyond measure.
In return,
Tina always greeted Lene with warm and shining eyes, a doggy smile, and a wagging tale.
Tina encouraged Lene to take long and lovely walks because she knew how good they were for Lene.
Tina kept Lene company during the long winter nights, and thought her knitting was pretty amazing.
Tina loved Lene beyond measure.
And together,
they loved each other beyond time,
for love has no end.
Dear Lene,
It is so hard saying goodbye to their sweet faces, isn't it? Thankfully, time lessens the pain, leaving us with cherished memories. If it helps, know that no dog could have had a better life, or been loved more than your Tina.
Hugs, Carolyn
Lene - I have been quietly reading your blog for a long time, just sitting in my corner knitting and reading. But now I must speak up and tell you how very sorry I am for your loss. Such a difficult time! Sending you hugs!
ReplyDeleteOh I am so so sorry - our household's thoughts are with you at this sad dark time. Dogs are so precious and they age far too quickly x they are part of us in a way nothing else really is...
ReplyDeleteSo sorry. There is nothing quite like the love of a dog.
ReplyDeleteHalaus!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for your loss. It will be an empty spot that I hope you can fill. Helen
ReplyDeleteSo sad, thinking of you, sending hugs xxx
ReplyDeleteAs if I weren't sad enough, Carolyn's verse made me cry. All of us who can't live without a dog in our lives know how much this hurts.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear this from you. Know that you gave her a wonderful life, and that you will see her again.
ReplyDeleteThinking of you, Lene.
ReplyDeleteI am so, so very sorry, Lene. She runs with the Thousands now.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry for your loss, Lene. What a gift you and Tina were for each other. xoxo
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your Tina with us. Over the years I have enjoyed the stories of her you have shared with us. I am sorry she is gone. I try not to think about how short our dogs lives are. My little terrier is 13. I try not to dwell on her age and how little time she may have left with us. I try to just enjoy the time we have. Through your blog I know you treasured your time with Tina
ReplyDeleteAlways so hard to say goodbye to a companion who has enriched ones life, but thankful that there were 12 years of life together to be all the better for that togetherness. We had 18 years with a very special cat who came to us in Ireland and made the journey back to the US four years later. She will live in our memories and stories we tell as a family. How lucky we were that she was a part of so many good times.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry :-(.
ReplyDeleteSo very sorry Lene. Although we have never met, I feel a connection with you, and when those we care about are hurting, we hurt with them. Pets become family so quickly. Big hugs!
ReplyDeleteOh, I am so sorry to hear this sad news. Our pets are our familiars. We know them - and they know us! - in a very special way. My heart goes out to you.

ReplyDeleteSo, so sorry. We lost our Molly on the last day of 2015. We'd had her for 13 years, so the house has felt empty since then. Last week we adopted Sage, a six-month-old rescue. She's settling in. I love how active a dog keeps me!
