Warm hands

Ruusu has been lined all through December for doggy pictures, but here we are, one more day left of this Advent Calendar and I haven't used too many dog pictures. She still might be here tomorrow, but in the meantime, please enjoy the cabled mittens I knitted earlier this year. The blue showing is another pair, so there are simple lining mittens knitted with pure Merino and the cabled ones on top, knitted with Regia sock yarn for durability.
And this is all I have now. This is the day when all the strings need to be pulled together, one final day of preparations. Few things started earlier this week, need to be finished today, and some preparations need to get started today to be finished tomorrow.
-9°C today, so very good day for...
Wool with you,
Lene

  3. Beautiful mittens - and cowl - and tunic too! Do you ever hesitate to wear your lovely handknits for chores? I heat with wood as you do, and also raise cashmere goats and spend much time outdoors getting muddy and mucky and dusty. I'm a bit afraid of ruining handknits, or having to wash them very frequently.

  4. Dear Lene, Thank you so much for this lovely advent calendar. It has been beautiful and heartwarming in this busy month. Today the mittens are gorgeous, and I especially love seeing one of my all-time favorites of your work - the twined knit sweater. I loved those posts about this and the twined mittens and their stunning embroidery. I often go back and read them. Well, I love all your posts!

Wishing you a loving and joyous Christmas!

Thank so much for all of your beautiful posts. I love to see you doing things in and around your house wearing all your beautiful hand knits. It was 40 degrees today where I live so not much need for knitted things. Too bad!

  11. I love your mittens. Are they from a pattern or did you make them up yourself? If they are from a pattern, would you share what pattern you used?

  13. I hope you had a wonderful holiday with your family and your crafting. I have been intrigued by several large media companies here in the US reporting that Norway is considering giving Finland a mountain, or a part of a mountain so there will be a mountain within the borders of Finland. The occasion is Finland's 100th birthday. There seems to be quite a bit of popular support for the idea, but no additional official comment. Do you know any more than that? I would be very happy to hear more.
