The sun rose
at 1106 and set at 1320. The length of the day was 2 hours and 14 minutes. Cloudy
mostly, but there was a hint of sun behind the clouds. Warm, but no wind, so
the day was good for outdoors.
Thank you
for your input in the mittens. Your thoughts have given me some new ideas,
plenty to think about. And yes, the beginning in the red/grey mitten is tubular cast-on.
Today I continued a bit with embroidery. It should resemble a mistletoe ;-).
This is just a sketch, I did not mark the background, neither did I draw it on
paper beforehand, so the design needs some work. And this embroidery does not belong to this mitten, but since I am not making pairs for these, I can
use both for experimenting and trying out different ideas. The red/grey mitten is
blocked but the grey/white one would benefit from good wet blocking.
Maybe I
should do a pair of Christmas mittens - for next year...
Can you
believe that it is Christmas Eve already next Saturday?
Wool till
tomorrow

ReplyDeleteI love both colour combinations but my favourite is the red and grey with the lovely mistletoe embroidery - very fine work!
ReplyDeleteLOVELOVELOVE the embroidery! The perfect thing to add to these mitts. You are SO creative!
ReplyDeleteAh, that embroidery! Not too much, not too little - just enough. I think a pair of these would be wonderful, not to be just used to experiment on. I love the way you think so creatively about your creations.
ReplyDeleteLove your mittens, absolutely adorable!
ReplyDeleteLove these mittens. The embroidery is perfect.
ReplyDeleteThe embroidery is lovely. As Lyn said, not too much and not too little. I knew you would come up with something perfect. :)
ReplyDeleteThe mistletoe is beautiful on the red mittens!
ReplyDeleteI knew it was mistletoe before you even said so, so it's perfect. And yes, a pair of Christmas mittens for next year is a wonderful idea!!
ReplyDeleteI like both the red and gray mittens, and think they should have mates.
Love!
ReplyDeleteJust lovely! Wonderful embroidery!I just wonder if you could have done the embroidery instead of that place in the center of the back of the hand...? How would that look?
ReplyDeleteIt DOES remember a mistletoe, I knew at first glance :) The mittens are really lovely!
ReplyDeleteLovely mittens - a subtle wee embroidery which is just enough.
ReplyDeleteI love your mittens. I have knit a few pairs, but I find them difficult, especially the base of the thumb.
ReplyDeleteThe embroidery is perfect!
Oh, I am drooling over the red mittens! The combination of the regimented stripes and the rather Art Nouveau mistletoe is just so lovely.
ReplyDeleteYour work is always so beautiful, Lene!
