Obstacles Shawl

Dear,

The sun, although she seems to be a bit shy yet, is shining and adding a nice yellow glow onto the spots she chooses to touch. Every single step seems to be so much lighter today and everything, just about everything feels cheerful on a day like this. Even the taste of tea is better. Just think about the fact that no matter what, the spring is on its way and even though there are plenty of dreary winter days ahead, they won't stop the spring from coming.

This little shawl does her deal making this day such a good one.
This is Obstacles from http://www.knitspot.com/ (by Anne) knitted with 4 mm needles of Irish organic wool (http://www.abbeyyarns.com/). Such a delight, the pattern and the yarn. For a while I thought about doing another one but then decided against it and picked something else, but as lovely as this. This beauty woke up my hibernating spirit and wrapped it into the soft cloud of lace.

The words keep escaping and I don't know what to write about. But if I had to choose my adjectives for today they would be:

cheerful happy glad fortunate joyous airy light bright hopeful encouraged

My English skills are limited. Maybe you could add a few to make this day complete.

Be well,

Lene

That is such a beautiful scarf! I like the word radiant, since the sun's rays and warmth come to mind when I hear it.

It snowed and was very cold last night, and today we have heavy rain in Connecticut, USA.

Adjectives I like today: Fruitful, energetic, productive, inspired, appreciative, strong, creative, capable, clear-minded, thoughtful, inspired, compassionate.

Not the same as your words, but good for me, today.

  11. Dear Lene,
I've been happily reading your blog for over a year now, and have never commented before. I grew up here in Florida, not a flake of snow all winter long, and love your descriptions of your home. Your post today was so uplifting, so delightful, I'm forwarding a copy to my mother (age 77), since she really needs a bit of cheer. Lene, I feel you are my friend. Thank you so much for taking the time to show us your life. Your writing and photos are beautiful and inspiring.
    Fondly, Elisabeth in Florida

The shawl is lovely. Do you create your artwork (birds carrying the shawl) after your project is finished or.. before you begin? Your creative spirit is wonderful!

  15. Oh, that is so lovely! I love the simplicity of the white against the pattern. It makes me look at that pattern differently.

  17. I was going to say lovely, airy and light. But you did already mention airy and light. I'm glad you are getting more sun in your area of the world. Has to make the dark days of winter a wee bit brighter and happier.

  19. Lene I've been so busy that I haven't been able to read your blog since early December. I came here again today and was reminded WHY I love you and your blog so much. Thank you for the gift of your writing, your drawings, your needlework of all kinds, your animals, your photos, your humble disposition - everything. My life is richer because you share your life with us. Thank you. I hope you don't mind that I have saved this "obstacles" drawing as the wallpaper background on my computer. It's beautiful!
