The first pattern repeat of Henry is done. The urge to go on is still strong. It is very hard to put down the knitting at nights and I have been knitting the hours I should have been sleeping. It is taking its toll...
And the ice is mostly gone!
Happy weekend everyone!
Henry is very handsome indeed. The colors are truly beautiful and your stitches look great. I'm glad spring has finally come and the lake has waves! Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteBrrr! We are looking at our first 100+ degree days this weekend, a full three weeks ahead of average. I will be wishing for a dip in that cold lake by Sunday.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work on Henry. It will be exquisite!
Gorgeous! You are making great progress.
ReplyDeleteHenry is tremendously beautiful - as I'm sure you know, being as entranced with it as you are :) Good to see that spring is heading your way. We have sunshine here, but it is still chilly...
ReplyDeleteBravo! He is looking quite splendid! Your knitting is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love your lake. Makes such a great view!
Hmm... the heady excitement of the start of the project. I hope you continue to enjoy it because the knitting is excellent. It is a beautiful piece of fabric.
ReplyDeleteI find Henry absolutely stunning! I have never knitted a 'big' fair isle project, and this makes me want to go ahead, right now...
ReplyDeleteNow where do you get your patterns from?
Lene, you have inspired me to knit a Fair Isle sweater next winter. First I will try a tam from Elizabeth Zimmerman's patterns! I think the kit is the only way to go with a sweater like Henry, so I will be perusing the catalogues, etc.
ReplyDeleteMiss B. will not be out gardening in the chilly air yet, but perhaps soon! I would not want to have to dip my toe in your lake just yet!
Are you able to swim for any length of time in that beautiful lake?
Henry is absolutely fabulous! Oh, the colors, the pattern, beautiful! I can imagine that it's hard to put him down! I've also been sitting up too late at night knitting lately. As the projects grow, so do the dark circles under my eyes... :)
ReplyDeleteWho needs sleep when you're working on that beauty!!! Just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteGreat work, Henry looks fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThe knitting is soooo beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOh, my gosh! Henry is fantastic! You do such amazing work.
ReplyDeleteBreathtaking...Henry and the lake.
ReplyDeleteThis Sunday in the US is Mother's Day and I want to wish you a Happy Mother's Day, and really, for every day.
Good weekend to you also!
Henry is lovely, I find colourwork very addictive & just can't set it aside.
ReplyDeleteAs beautiful as it promised to be!
ReplyDeleteIf I could knit something that looked so beautiful I would not want to put it down either.
ReplyDeleteRick will be one week out of town for work soon. The kids and I will probably eat a lot of sandwiches and I'll get a lot of knitting done then!
I am glad your love affair with Henry is continuing, because he is beautiful. I have been at my cottage this weekend and I tried eating breakfast on the deck, but it's just not quite warm enough yet. It is so nice to see the waves sparkling cheerfully on the lake, instead of cold hard ice.
ReplyDeleteyes, fair-isle is very alluring because one wants to "be" at the next stage. your colors are fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI had my share of knitting instead of sleep. not good...
:-)
Henry is just beautiful. Wonderful job so far. Makes me want to pick up Donegal which I set aside.

ReplyDeleteHenry is simply amazing! I look forward to knitting another Fair Isle someday; they're so fun.
ReplyDeleteI really appreciate the pictures of the area where you live, since it's interesting to see something different from my home. It's almost like going on trip.
Oh, I love Henry. I loved him from the first time I set eyes on him and I love him even more now that I see him on your blog. I always thought it would be a great pattern for a woman. Did you find instructions for a smaller and more fitted size, or have you made the alterations yourself?? What fun you must be having, watching spring come and knitting that fabulous pattern.
ReplyDeleteWell you're not kidding about trying out fair-isle, are you? Henry is magnificent. You are one courageous knitter! :)
ReplyDeleteOh Henry! HE is Lovely I can see why your are planning on being monogomous with him. Nice work!
