She is taking this all very seriously.
She is not there yet. With 3,5 mm (US4) needles and 41 stitches on a needle her speed is not that great. And she was slowed down a bit since after 130 cm (52") she had to call another skein.
Thank you again for all your supportive comments! I will try to add some text to the photoalbums in the future.
Love both the texture and the colour of the scarf. Also like your wooden stairs!
ReplyDeleteHow long did that take you, Lene? It appeared as though it was cast on one day and finished almost the next. I do like the colour.
ReplyDeleteYour scarf pattern is very appealing - what stitch combination do you use to make the edges so smooth and even? I have been trying to find good instructions for handling the edges of scarves because I am not happy with the bumpy ridges I seem to produce with my knitting.
ReplyDeletePoor anxious scarf! I hope for all of your sakes you can use your front door. We still have not seen much snow here, the ground is not even frozen. Very strange indeed.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy the photo galleries. How impressive the twined knitting is! I've seen most of the photos on your blog but seeing them together has quite an impact. The creatures are so lovely and whimsical, I have grown very fond of them and look forward to their appearances.
Lovely, lovely scarf. I also love your home...the bit I see of it.
ReplyDeleteI love your weirdos and Mum just glows with love everytime she sees Mrs Badger hanging her little quilts. I have some tiny "Liberty" ones she made for my doll's house somewhere.
ReplyDeleteThe scarf is wonderful, but the stairs are the best! If we were younger, we would have a home made entirely of wooden floors, stairs and walls. Our home is made of wood, but carpets, dry wall, etc. cover up the wood! My dad was a lumberman, so perhaps that is where my love of wood comes from!
ReplyDeletelooking beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYour scarf is so lovley. I like the color.
ReplyDeleteI love your home..The wooden stairs looks great.
That's a beautiful color, and a beautiful looking scarf!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Ann...that is one very anxious (but lovely) scarf!! ;)
Thanks for the laugh - I couldn't help myself when I saw her headed for the top floor!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty - the green looks so nice against the hardwood floors!
ReplyDeleteYou have found another interesting way to photograph your knits!
ReplyDeleteWe are expecting some snow, but not much.
It might be my eyes, but I think your scarf has moved up to the next stair when I refreshed the page. She is serious! And quite lovely.
ReplyDeleteI think you're trying to knit yourself an escape rope! It's probably the prettiest one ever knitted.
ReplyDeleteThe idea of needing to climb out the window for an exit makes me think of the film "The Saddest Music in the World." It's very very funny, if you can get your hands on it, and throughout the film, which takes place in Winnipeg, Canada, they are exiting out the windows and skylights of the buildings and even the tram!
For such little effort, it will have a great result! I bet the wrong side looks just as pretty with all those sweet little purls and garter stitch. :)
