I was trying to add some pictures of my creatures to the sidebar and am not quite sure yet if I managed to do it, but will keep trying...
I'm sorry if you all don't enjoy this new colour. I was not sure of it either ...and for a few seconds yesterday thought that I would go to the blue template...but then decided that since this is going to be a year of colour for me, I would get myself used to this colour... eventually... and if I would change the template that would again mean some extra work... and...
I just quote something I heard on TV yesterday which makes sense (poor translation I know...)
" You can't always win. You can always lose. And you can keep explaining away endlessly..."
Green it is. As is my new scarf to be. I'm almost done with the first skein but it is not long enough. Will tell you then how much you can get out of one skein.
I will get back outside now. I have changed the needles to a shovel. (The shovel is so much better for the figure. I had a large piece of cake just recently. Did I tell you that I'm having a non-chocolate January.) The sky does not know when to stop. If this goes on, soon we will have to start using the upstairs windows if we want to leave the house.
I like the new color. It is different but you can always change it at a later date.
ReplyDeleteNo chocolate for the month. Good luck with that.
Sounds like I need to come and visit, my figure could use some shoveling. hehehe
We have a saying here on the Wet West Coast of Canada regarding rain - "At least you don't have to shovel it!" However, some folk are 'shoveling' it out of their basements.
ReplyDeleteI like the new colour - it sort of grows on you!
It's definitely not the soothing calming template I've come to expect from you, but it does put me in mind of spring!
ReplyDeleteThe green was a bit jarring at first, but I do notice that the colors of your photographs seem clearer against it. My old computer monitor doesn't always do so well with color photographs, so this is a welcome improvement. I'm guessing that you see enough blue at this time of year that you don't want it on your blog as well.
ReplyDeleteMy DD was charmed by the idea that one should greet the New Year with a horse, as she is a rider. She also said, "But what about a dog too?", so she was glad to hear from Tina.
I like to greet the New Year with chocolate (and all other times of the year too!) I think I'd rather give up ice cream for January, since I hardly ever eat it.
I think that when your buttons and various other lists and pictures are up the green will be perfect. Right now it's just a little unadorned. Choose what works for you. It's your blog and we'll keep reading regardless!
ReplyDeleteI used to hate this color, but now I love it. It feels so fresh and juicy.
ReplyDeleteGee, I like the green. It seems kind of friendly. I must admire your goal of no chocolate( sadly, or happily, I just consumed 3 pieces of the yummy stuff). Also, the snow sounds so winter-like! W haven't had a winter yet--very unusual.

ReplyDeleteWow Lene, could you send some snowy thoughts to New York City? We have now surpassed the record set in 1878 for latest date of first snow (which had been January 4). The forecast high for tomorrow is 70F. SEVENTY.
ReplyDeleteLene, I like the green and you're right, it's your blog and it can and will be whatever colour you decide.
ReplyDeleteYou're getting the SNOW...take care, stay warm and Happy Knitting (when you finish with the shoveling) :)
Oh, my goodness, Lene, those creatures are wonderful! I especially love plump Mrs. Hedgehog. How big are they? I can't get much of a sense of scale from the photos.
ReplyDeleteHow funny! Before I started reading your post, I thought to myself that I liked the green. I used the same basic template only with the pink, and I'm getting tired of it.
ReplyDeleteI support you in sticking with your new template. Even if I don't like it. :-)
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about the snow, we had 36 inches two weeks ago Wednesday, 18 more a week ago Thursday, 8 more inches today. I just shoveled for 1 1/2 hours. We need a break.
ReplyDeletegreen, hmmmmm. you must long for spring.
ReplyDeleteI think the green is stunning!
ReplyDeleteWonder if I can add more green to my website...
I'm messing with my layout too, and hate it with a passion. It's just so hard!
ReplyDeleteA month of no chocolate? Oh my... you're so brave!
I like the green, don't worry about it! :)
ReplyDeleteOur Christmas treats are pretty well eaten up, so I'll be on the chocolate fast too. I don't usually buy chocolate, but at Christmas I receive a lot as gifts. I tried making the brandy-soaked prunes dipped in chocolate which you mentioned previously and they were scrumptious. We used apricots too. Thanks for the idea!
ReplyDeleteIt's always fun to change the template - it can be a lot of work, but just think of it as a learning experience...or something like that.
ReplyDeleteHi Lene, I do like the green but just incase you want to explore colour, as far as I can see with this new beta blogger you can change the colours of all the backgrounds and fonts completely when you go to customise up in the top right corner, just thought you may find this useful as you can really play with the colours and make the blog your own.
ReplyDeleteActually, I hadn't commented on the color yet, but I like the green - once I got over the shock of the new look!
ReplyDeleteAt first glance, I thought my computer had problem with the colors but ...I red your post and got the answer !
ReplyDeleteIt's different but all right and it's at YOU choose, not at all our business...
I, like some other people here, think that it's refreshing, a kind of special lettuce color !
I'm still waiting for the shovel...very strange winter right now...My figure doesn't need to much of shoveling but...I love snow and snowstorms !

I am so in love with your creatures ..Kuva will always be my favourite but the Horse? throwing up it's arms is adorable as is Granny scaring your cat.
ReplyDeleteThe green is very cheery against the darkness and dull greys and browns of winter. I say stick with it.
ReplyDeleteBut then, it's not my blog. So you may tell me to go to the devil with my opinion!
As far as I'm concerned, Lene, you couldn't make a bad color judgment if you tried. Happy shoveling!
Sigh. I wish that you could shovel the snow down here to Pirkanmaa. I really miss having snow!
ReplyDeleteA month without chocolate? I'd don't know if I could do it. I did realize over the holidays, with all the different kinds of chocolate we had around, that if I crave chocolate I want Fazer Blue, the others are just a nice extra.
