A Journey

I'm about to make a journey and I'm unable to post during it. I won't be back writing here until in May. But I will be back then, because I enjoy to be part of the knitting community and enjoy the comments.

This is not a pleasant journey but something I must do and cannot talk about. I don't know to what I'd compare this in the knitting world...
maybe like careful swatching.
You know you are in serious trouble without it. You have this beautiful and delicate yarn but there is only limited amount. You are not allowed to lose one inch of it. No ripping or frogging. Maybe like that...
During the journey I hope to be able to knit. At least some. How much yarn should I take? That should have read, how much sock yarn should I take?
You know that the sock yarn has many many functions. There has to be yarn for the knitting. But there are others reasons to too...
like to be able to take another skein from the suitcase and hold the dear yarn against the breast
or to have one skein to be able to finger it while falling asleep
or to have one resting on the night stand so that the first glimpse in the morning is at the beloved sock yarn...
maybe the one to hug should be soft pink, and the one to fall asleep with comforting blue and the one for the dawn should be beautiful and hopeful orange or yellow...

Lovely thoughts on skeins - maybe I´ll adopt that practise of putting skeins strategically in my day ;-)

I wish you well on your journey and that everything turns out the way you hope and wish.

Ah, a mysterious journey--hyvää matkaa, Lene. I will miss your posts.

Don't forget a bright green skein to remind you of the waking spring forests, and a deep red skein, the color of the buds on the trees.

I'm a new, but not so new, reader in the panhandle of Idaho, USA. I can't tell you how much I've come to look forward to reading your blogs over the last six weeks. Being new to the blog community, it's all been an exciting experience to find people who love knitting, write about it and their lives to share with others. You've helped me recover from an episode with shingles, a not very nice disease that seems to be very slow to recover from. It's been five weeks and I'm feeling better. Thank you for your beautiful knitting and descriptions of where you live. I'll miss you during your absence and look forward to your safe return. Take care.

Better take lots and lots of yarn, a different kind for each mood!
I notice that when packing for a trip I always carefully select the yarn and needles I want to bring more than the clothes I will wear, not to mention I always pack the yarn first!
LOL, Do you do that too?
