Nocturne (my own pattern)
Yarn used was Grignasco Tango ( 50% wool, 25% alpaca and 25%viscose) in colours 208 and 211. I used little less than 9 balls of blue and less than 2 of grey.
Nocturne was knit with 3 mm needles, the ribbings with 2,5 mm. The details in the sleeves are similar to those of Enid.

The inspiration for this came mostly from the recipient herself. She is following her dream and left home this autumn and while visiting her earlier this fall when I had to head back home and leave her there I needed to have this knitting to cling onto. She was my blue baby, the other one of the twins was red. When they were very little the bottles, pacifiers, towels etc needed to be colour coded.
The sweater got its name on a calm and moonlit night when I was looking at the lake and saw how the moon light was broken into ripples on the lake. I should have taken these pictures in such a night but here you have to picture the scene in your mind…
The recipient loves the sweater and I love them both. I guess I can call this a success.

It is truly gorgeous. You should be proud of yourself. And I'm sure that the recipient will tell you that as well.

A very lovely success...both are your successes, the sweater and your daughter.
That's one fine sweater - I especially like the sleeves!
Very nice indeed. Great fit.
Very beautiful. I too knit things for my daughter who is far away and am always inclined to cast something on when I am worried about or miss her. I think that it is nice for them to receive these from us as well. A little woolie hug from mom!
The two of you are obviously very talented women. A beautifully done sweater on a lovely young woman with incredibly expressive hands!
She has long arms too! It looks great on her. Fits her like a glove and you have to be pleased when seeing her wear it. Once again.......Bravo!!
Lovely sweater. It fits perfectly.
Beautiful, Lene! I love the stripes.
Oh, it is just so beautiful, and to have such a loving mother, your daughter is indeed lucky!
So elegant, especially on her long, beautiful frame. Congratulations on such a beautiful design. And I love the fact that you're sending her off with a warm woolen hug.
Oh, and I finally finished the Alice Starmore vest that you inspired me to knit. You were right, was a perfectly satisfying knitting experience. However, I'm now experiencing some withdrawal symptoms, missing my lovely fair-isle companion and not sure what to knit next...
Anyway, thank you for being such an inspiration.
Beautiful! I like the design and how it enhances the wearer! Congratulations!
Just beautiful. It is impresive how you create your own works and how stellar they come out. this sweater is very inspiring. Thank you, and congratulations!

Lene, What can I say!!!! The sweater, and the colors of the sweater, seem to reflect the colors in the background waters, rocks and shoreline in the pictures. Fantastic! I like the look on your beautiful daughter, also. Thanks for sharing this knitting experience with us! Jeanie
Very too cute!
It's beautiful!!!
Have a great weekend :)
Absolutely stunning! I love the silhouette and the yarn. Beautiful piece ;)
Totally inspiring! Thank you for sharing two of beautiful things you have made in one picture.
It is just beautiful. You are so clever. Your surroundings are just lovely and carm, I guess that helps with what you choose to knit.
Nocturne is beautiful! Lovely! And very good photos. Thanks.
What a beautiful sweater. Are you selling this pattern? I would love to knit something like this!
Grace
Just lovely Lene. And it is very well modeled.
I, too, would love to know if you plan to make this pattern available someday, though I understand that it's a present and the answer may well be "no, sorry." I'm built on similar lines as your daughter (very thin, long in the arms and torso) and finding sweaters that accommodate that is HARD! Honestly, I can't stop staring at it and visiting the Picasa gallery. it's absolutely stunning!
